Lots of goodies for your horse.

There are lots of things that you can feed your horse that are perfectly safe. There are also some things that are not. Here is a list of Safe and Unsafe.

SAFE

Apples, Apricots, Bananas, Beets, Blackberries, Carrots, Celery, Cherries, Coconut, Corn, Dates, Figs, Grapes, Grapefruit, Lettuce, Mangoes, Oranges, Peaches, Pears, Pineapples, Plums, Pumpkin, Raisins, Rutabagas, Squash, Strawberries, Sweet Potatoes, Tangerines, Turnips, Watermelon.


UNSAFE

Acorns, Avocado, Onions, Potatoes, Persimmons, Rhubarb, Tomatoes, Peppers, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Peanuts.

Please remember to remove the pits from fruits such as, peaches, and cherries, because they are poisonous. Also remember to feed all of these in moderation.

I have heard that while they do like cherry "flavor" cherries themselves are not good for them.

I want to make this point again to make sure that it is not misunderstood.

No matter what you feed your horses, ALWAYS feed in moderation. Anything such as peaches or cherries, always remember to take the seeds out before feeding it to your horse.

Also, whatever your feeding your horse, especially apples or carrots, please chop them into small bites, as your horse can choke.

I learned this the hard way. I fed one of my horses those little baby carrots and almost choked him to death. So please make sure whatever you feed is in bite size chunks.
