What is Tellington Touch
and How Can It Help Me?

Tellington Touch (T Touch) is described as small circular movements and specific touches that ease tension and discomfort. These touches also improve self-image and posture, leading to increased self-confidence and self-control.

This method was invented and developed by Linda Tellington Jones in the 1980’s. Linda initially developed Ttouch for use on horses. However, it soon caught on and is now used on all types of animals and also on humans.

Linda is internationally renowned for her revolutionary bodywork, and has been featured in many publications as well as on TV, all over the world. She has been invited to work on all kinds of animals, some in zoo’s and on wildlife reservations.

T Touch should not be confused with equine massage. It is two totally different things. This method has been used extensively to speed up the healing and recovery process in animals and humans.

It also improves the relationship between animals and humans, and increases the ability to learn and to change inappropriate behavior in animals.

After much success with the Ttouch method, Linda also developed Tteam, which is a holistic approach to working with animals.

Tteam training methods encourage the best performance and health of your horse. It also presents solutions to many common behavioral and physical problems. It has quickly become one of the great horse training techniques used today.

Tteam trainers learn to recognize that most behavioral issues are caused by pain, fear or tension in a horse’s body. It provides positive solutions to such common problems as:

Sore BackStress
Nervousness Lameness
CinchinessStiffness
Bucking & RearingClipping & Pulling Mane
Resistance to Vet or Farrier Head Tossing
Biting Kicking
Pulling Back When Tied Trailering
StubbornnessResistance To Grooming

There are 4 phases to this training method:

1. Playground of higher learning - A series of ground exercises which enable a horse to learn without fear. These exercises result in self-control, focus, self-confidence, co-operation, balance and coordination.

2. Tellington Touch - Attitude and behavior being positively influenced.

3. Joy of Riding - Riding with awareness increases the comfort, performance and confidence of both horse and rider.

4. Communication - Learning to listen to the “whispers” of horses by observing their subtle body language.

One of the best things about the Tellington Touch method is that you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to be able to use it successfully. Anyone can learn the basics in just a few hours. Linda has written many books on the subject, explained in detail. She also has over 20 videos illustrating this technique. Here is an example.
