Small Serendipity Equine Rescues Farm

by Brigit Paul
(Markham, Ontario)

I have been involved with horses since I was a young girl. Raised in a rural community , however we were a family of little means. I spent my summers working at local training and boarding stables , just to be able to have the priviledge to ride a horse.

I owned my first horse when I was 16. An old broken down standardbred. I still have pictures of that mare & I. I still love her even though she has long since passed away.

Today as a working adult in my 50's, I try to rescue horses or adopt horses that I know I can provide a positive future for, or I can find the perfect home for the horse. I cannot save them all. I wish I could. So many good horses are forgotten. In this economy, it is difficult at times, however, each horse I have purchased at a meat market/auction, I know where the horse is today. There are those special ones that will be with us forever.

We always have a few extra stalls to house a horse in need.

I like to think, my friends and boarders and all of those horsey people I have come to know, regard the rescuing work I do as "Interventions on the Horses behalf".

My motto is" Big or Small, we will re-home them all".

Kindest thanks,

Brigit Paul
