Paso Fino Horses

paso-fino-chestnut

Paso Fino horses are a naturally gaited horse breed, prized for their smooth gait. These horses are very versatile and can be used in many disciplines. They are often seen competing in Western classes such as trail, barrels, reining, versatility and cow penning, and are also commonly used for trail riding and endurance competitions.

The basic gaits of this breed are the paso fino, paso corto, and paso largo. They also walk and canter. These are not trained movements, but are natural to the horse from the moment of its birth.

Very elegant and with plenty of style, the Paso Fino generally ranges in size from 13.2 hands to 15 hands. Colors range from chestnut, bay, palomino, black, gray and roan to pinto. It is a spirited yet gentle horse, and very intelligent.

The Paso Fino has several different body types from quite small and refined to very large and powerful. This is a lively horse that has a natural drive and willingness, and generally a nice disposition, which makes it one of the most desirable horse breeds.
