Nina Clark< founder of Horses' Honor, a non profit horse sanctuary

by Nina Clark
(Auburn, CA)

My story begins with every horse that ever passed through my hands, over 500 and counting...

Every horse is a candidate for slaughter, just ask Ferdinand the 1985 Kentucky Derby winner sent to slaughter in Japan several years ago. Any horse without an advocate is vulnerable.

Responsible horse lovers must change the way we buy, sell, breed and keep our horses. The phone rings every day with stories of horses in need.

As a responsible rescue we long ago had to say no to further horses. The donations have dried up to nothing in this economy and even sound, broke horses are having trouble finding homes at any price. Our elder and marginal horses are even more vulnerable.

Please support your local rescue, keep your horse for life or please at least don't breed any more horses until this situation has righted itself. With love for the horses, Nina Clark, Horses' Honor. www.Horseshonor.org and (539) 823-8927 Donations much appreciated
