This is the first time i have read about this subject and i feel totally sickened by it. There is no need, in our society, for any animal to suffer.

We are the superior race. What a laugh. I have just rescued a horse myself. I'm 3 weeks into it, and can't believe how rewarding she is.
Horse slaughter is inhumane and unnecessary. It needs to be put to and end, now!

And why is there no limit put on the breeding side of this?
