I'd rather they go to something useful

I'd rather that the horses that I can't keep go to something useful, like food for people over-seas than starve to death on some pasture.

Wouldn't you rather see your horse that you can't afford to keep be food so it has a purpose? I'm not saying that it wouldn't be sad or anything, but come on. Get Real!

I'm also not saying that what slaughter houses do is humane, but just change the method of killing the horse and it's good. That is all people are worried about isn't it? The inhumane treatment of horses at slaughter houses? Well, do something about that rather than closing the slaughter houses.

Horse meat is a pretty big economical impact for us. So open the slaughter houses back up and change the method of killing the horses.

I own over 60 head of horses and it's hard trying to support them as well as myself and family. I'm not saying that if the slaughter houses opened back up that I would send all my horses to them, but its an option if I ever needed to do something. I know they are other people who agree with me somewhere out there so speak up!
