if you talk the talk you ought to walk the walk
by: Anonymous

I do believe in God and by doing so I read his word.(something it sounds like you ought to do)

He tells you in great detail how he feels about his horse.(you might start reading in Job) He tells us if it doesn't have cloven hoofs and chews its cud its not for us to eat.(this is hoofed animals only)

He also says: Cursed be the man who is cruel to even one of my(this being God speaking) animals. You need to watch one of the slaughter videos. The bible tells us how to humanly slaughter an animal. These slaughter houses are not what he describes.

Horse owners should be held responsible for their animals. Instead they(horses) work their butts off for people until its time to retire and then their owners ship them to get the last penny they can out of them. As for putting them down, most vets will do it for you if your truly broke(which means you cant afford that pack of cigs...)bullet is cheat and if you don't have the balls to go that last mile with them law enforcement will shoot them for you.

Weirdo!

I would rather starve than be shoved into some little bloody room and shot in the head! Or have my throat cut and be hung upside-down with weight of a horse on my lungs! The other anonymous is right. Some horse person you are! There ARE other options. Go buy yourself a heart!

What is Humane!!!!
by: Anonymous

What is Inhumane is to send a horse to slaughter!!!! There are other ways to put an old horse down that cannot not retain his body weight.

The first horse I ever bought was a old horse, but I was told when I bought her that she was 9 years old. I was not experienced enough at the time to know that she was old and did I mention she was pregnant! Everything I did buying the expensive feed, (that I could not afford) the weight gain granules worming her every 2 months did not help her.

Last January I was 9 months pregnant with my 3rd child and was on maternity leave without pay, so money was extremely tight, she went down and no matter how much syrup, grain, and a few other things that we tried, we could not get up back on her feet!! I called the vet and had her humanely put to sleep. That was a very hard decision and the vet said she would not get better, she was a very dear horse to me and she gave me a sweet colt that I will never sell!! So yes there are humane ways of putting a horse down.

I believe in GOD and I believe that he put a horse on this earth to carry us on their back and HELP us do our daily task. I do not believe that he put them on the earth for us to eat!

My horses are a part of my family, they are not something I want to run in the ground and wait until they are old and send them to slaughter. I believe that if a horse gives you the best years of his life and does the task you put before him, then you should show your horse the same respect and take care of him when he gets old.

Haven't you been taking care of your horse before he got old? Or do you? Do your horses have to fend for food themselves, and now that they are older their bodies cannot digest the grass as good so you send them to slaughter?

When you get old and even though you carried you children on your hip, do you think they should send you to slaughter? I know humans are not horses but listen to the concept.
