Horse Slaughter Is NOT Inhumane!

Horse slaughter is perfectly fine. We slaughter cows, hogs, sheep and poultry for human consumption and no one is complaining this bad. If our country can make a profit from this, why is everyone complaining? The stopping of horse slaughter has also caused the equine economy to plumit into the ground. Horse farmers with the right names and bloodlines can't make a living from their horses. No one wants to buy a horse, so farmers and breeders cannot get their horses sold and make a living. The are suffering too.

we need slaughter houses, but they need to be highly regulated. There must be ways to do this as humanely as possible. I am an avid horse lover. I have two beautiful horses that I love.Some people just can't afford to pay to have their horse put down, so they wind up starving. I really don,t see the big deal with eating horsemeat either. If Americans liked it, it would be ok to eat then. I would like to try it someday. Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!

Your joking right? Last time I checked it wasn't the 1800's. Horses are no longer breed for human consumption they are breed as pets just because you don't want Rover anymore you don't send him to china to have his throat slit or a bolt implanted in his brain. Although horses fall within the livestock category you cannot compare them when it comes to the issue of purpose. Goats, cows, chickens, sheep etc...were breed for the sole purpose of being food. Not to say one animals life should be held higher then another but when it comes to reason for domestication horses fell along the lines of our transportation.
As for the breeders their own stupidity is the cause of their own demise. If you see the economy going into the ground you don't keep breeding horses. Willingly knowing no one can no longer afford them. Breeders are the cause of this mess to begin with, America is overly populated with horses due to the fact everyone keeps breeding.
