Consider

Everything that this topic covers should be taken into consideration morally and ethically. I have been around animals all of my life and slaughtering an animal is all about relieving stress. When slaughtering an animal, people should at least make sure that it is dead, before they start hacking away at it. Also give it a decent trip there. For all of you out there that butcher, transport, own, buy for the slaughter houses, consider your dignity. How would you like to leave? Capital punishment allows murderers, rapists -people who have actually done horrific things, to have one last meal of their choice along many other last requests. At least give these animals their last wishes, a good meal maybe or handful of oats.
Also horse slaughter should be no different from cattle, however it seems to be significantly more harsh and severe. I am against the idea completely, however one can not change the entire worlds diet. Also at this time people are so reckless and irresposible that they bred their horses for any thing, with anything. Where are our heads. And if the slaughterer's want more money for their ponies they should treat them better because the meat would be better and europians would probably pay a little more for that. Balance should also be taken into consideration when you breed your next horse. Think about the home you could give to the horse that is about to embark on it's last ride, a hell. ride,
