Clydesdale horses are a breed of draft horse derived from farm horses in Clydesdale Scotland. They are large framed horses known for their size and strength. They are also known however, for their grace and durability.Clydesdales can easily grow to over 2000 pounds and be over 18 hands tall. These gentle giants have been used as war horses, draft horses on farms and even for advertising purposes.
These horses are well known for being the mascot of the Anheuser-Busch brewing company. They are one of the horse breeds that are easily recognized.
Long hair, known as a feather, covers their ankles and makes them an easily recognized breed. This feather, thick mane and heavy coat help them to survive in colder climates.
