Can you help me show them it's worth it?

by Heather Ann
(England)

I've never had a horse of my own, and I REALLY love them so whenever I get a chance I'm helping out at a stables. This September i want to start an apprenticeship in horse care. I got good results in school and my parents think I'll be throwing my life away, the only thing that matters to them is how much money I earn. How can I show them that I want horses in my life and that my happiness will be more worthwhile than the amount of money I earn?

Answer: Hi Heather. Well first off, how old are you? I'm sure there is nothing that I could say to make your parents change their minds. However, if horses are your passion, I say follow your dreams. There are people in the horse business that make mega bucks. It just depends on what field you go into. There are lots of things that you can do with horses that will make you a lot of money, if your good enough. I wish you the best in whatever you do.
