are horses comfortable in cold wet weather with no cover at all to get out of the elements

by B.D. Taylor
(Cornville Az.)

I have a neighbor that has her three horses in small enclosures with no overhead cover, no way to ever gallop, because of the lack of property she has to keep them on and it just bothers me.are the horses miserable or just me?

Answer: I would say that her horses are probably more miserable than you. Horse's are meant to roam, not to be locked in small enclosures, never being able to run. Horses need excercise and they also need to have some means to escape the elements. Some people are just ignorant and don't think about what they are doing to their horses. Are they fed properly and cared for, or are they just out there to fend for themselves? It's good that you are concerned, but I don't know what you can do about it other than calling the local animal rescue unit, if they are being mistreated.

Fre Roam

Horses are meant to roam, they are spirited creatures who need to stretch and move about freely. Sad that the neighbor doesn't realize this.
